CS Water Over-Chlorinated

While it was raining Thursday, if you saw College Station fire hydrants turned on, here’s the reason.

The chlorine level was higher than it was supposed to be. Jennifer Nations at College Station Water Services says the public water supply contained less chlorine than a swimming pool, but it was over standards for drinking water.

Chlorine levels returned to normal levels before 1 p.m. Thursday but water hydrants were still on to remove over-chlorinated water from the distribution system.
