While College Station school board members unanimously approved next year’s school calendar, changes may be coming in how future schedules are set.
The 2015-16 CSISD calendar was supported by 61 percent of parents but by less than 40 percent of teachers, other district employees, and other community members.
During the last board workshop, Jeff Harris noticed friction in the DEIC (Districtwide Educational Improvement Council), which is the committee that made the recommendation by a 10-8 margin. Harris called on the board to set more parameters before the calendar is considered for the 2016-17 school year.

Carol Barrett also suggested changing the date of the calendar survey from November towards the end of the school year.

Like this year, next year’s CSISD calendar has fall semester finals before Christmas and the school year ending before the first summer session at Texas A&M.
