College Station police investigated two aggravated assaults Halloween weekend.
Sunday afternoon, College Station police responded to a report of gunfire outside a home on Luther across the street from Tarrow Park. Officers learned no one was hit by three shots that were fired from a nine millimeter handgun during an argument. Three suspects left before police arrived. Witnesses who provided descriptions led to the finding the suspect vehicle five blocks south of the shooting on Holleman near the Lincoln Recreation Center. Only the driver was in the vehicle was found. 31 year old Michael Rivera of College Station was transferred Monday to the Brazos County jail. According to the arrest report, Rivera did not fire the shots. The two other suspects are described as Hispanic men, one five foot seven and 190 pounds with short black hair, and the other five foot eight and 200 pounds with a short fade haircut. Another incident involved a College Station man who underwent brain surgery Saturday after striking his head on a concrete driveway when he was struck in the face outside the home of a mutual friend. According to the arrest report, 43 year old William Welling told officers he hit the victim Friday night because he was angry over a comment the victim made about his deceased brother.
