CS Intersection Blocked Following Five Vehicle Crash

College Station Police continue to investigate a crash early Sunday morning involving five vehicles that closed the intersection of Texas and George Bush for more than seven hours.

Investigators have not determined which of two SUV’s ran a red light.

The driver of an eastbound Escalade and the driver and two passengers of a Forerunner were all transported to local hospitals.

Two of those in the Forerunner remained hospitalized as of Sunday afternoon.

Three other vehicles near the intersection were struck in the chain reaction, but none of those drivers or passengers were hurt.

It is not known whether alcohol, drugs, or distracted driving from using cell phones played contributing factors.

The crash, reported right before 3 a.m., closed the intersection until almost 10:30 Sunday morning.

No names have been released.
