U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducting an operation in Bryan on Saturday contacted 9-1-1 after they were encountered by aggressive drivers. According to a press release from the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), ICE agents called Brazos County 9-1-1 at approximately 11:45am Saturday, reporting that several individuals were following them, “driving recklessly, disobeying traffic signals, and attempting to block them from continuing to drive.” Agents told dispatchers that they were enroute to the Brazos County Detention Center. Upon arrival at the detention center, members of the Sheriff’s Office and the Bryan Police Department responded to assist. They say approximately 25–30 people arrived to peacefully protest. Just after 1:00pm, law enforcement personnel assisted the ICE agents in safely leaving the property. No individuals were booked into the Brazos County Detention Center by ICE during the operation. Neither BCSO or BPD were involved in the ICE operation. Got a news tip? e-mail us at news@wtaw.com, text us at (979) 695-1620, or reach out on Facebook or Twitter/X.
