Brazos County voters may be able to vote at any location in the county this November.
County Clerk Karen McQueen made her first pitch for the voter center idea at Thursday’s College Station city council meeting.
The council adopted a resolution supporting the county’s application to establish 25 centers for this November’s election. That number would be cut in half next year.

A pilot program in several Texas cities has resulted in lower costs and more convenient options for voters.
McQueen says polling locations would still need good internet connections, direct recording electronic voting machines, and electronic poll books that check-in voters systemwide in real time.
For local elections, every race in which the voter is eligible to vote would be on one ballot, and the voter could go to any polling location in the county.
After action from the College Station and Bryan city councils and school boards and the county commission, the proposal will go to the Secretary of State.
