On April 23, the College Station city council will consider whether to continue negotiating with Texas A&M to use parking lots at Veterans Park to shuttle football fans to and from Kyle Field.
Thursday night, the council heard from a dozen opponents to blocking soccer games for the “Get to the Grid” service.
Speakers included two youth soccer players, parents, coaches, and league administrators.
State law did not allow any response from the council because the topic could not be placed on the agenda because another state law requires three days advance notice.
It was Tuesday that the Brazos Valley Youth Soccer Association began a public campaign calling on the council to not use Veterans Park as a staging area for the A&M shuttle.
