The City of Bryan is finishing its first month of running Coulter Field. The city council at this week’s meeting approved budget amendments for the airport amounting to over $200,000 of additional revenue and expenses.
While the anticipated expenses and revenue leaves the city about $9,000 in the red, City Manager David Watkins pointed out the deficit was $70,000 when the airport was run by a third-party company.
As one example of increased revenue, Watkins said the city will get all the profit from the sale of aircraft fuel as opposed to three cents a gallon under the third-party arrangement.
