The Bryan City Council heard this week from opponents to a pair of developments at Coulter Field Airport.
Some were against a runway extension that would accomodate corporate jets.
Carolyn Buckley, who lives west of the airport in the Austin Estates development, said she didn’t want jets flying over her home.

Robert Barber told the council to leave Coulter as a family friendly airport and let jet traffic continue to use Easterwood Airport in College Station.

There was also opposition to increasing hangar rental rates by as much as 70 percent.

The council on a 4 to 2 vote approved the new rates as recommended by staff. Mike Southerland and Richard Cortez wanted the increase, the first in six years, capped at 25 percent.
