Consultant’s Take on Obama Winning Re-Election

Presidential campaign stops have been taking place in Texas this week.

Barack Obama was in the Dallas-Fort Worth area Tuesday and Herman Cain is in College Station Thursday over the noon hour for a book signing stop at the Hastings store.

Political consultant Matt Mackowiak, who was the campaign manager for Bill Flores and splits his time between Washington and Texas, was in the twin cities earlier this week.

Mackowiak says he has four criteria to determine whether Obama will be re-elected.

The first two are numbers everyone knows…the unemployment rate and the price of gasoline. Those figures drive the two other measures that are more about political strategy.

On the eve of Obama’s DFW visit, Mackowiak expects his re-election bid to mirror 2004.

Mackowiak, who disclosed he made a contribution to Rick Perry’s campaign, believes Perry or Mitt Romney will face Obama.

WTAW’s Bill Oliver visits with Matt Mackowiak about Barack Obama’s re-election strategy.
