Construction Zone Crash Injures 2 While Child Seat Saves 12 Week Old

Lots of traffic on Highway 21 between Kurten and North Zulch Friday morning was slowed down due to a crash in the construction zone.

DPS Trooper Jimmy Morgan says in the Highway 21 construction zone, an eastbound car passing a semi didn’t get back in their lane in time. That resulted in a near head-on collision.

Morgan identified the driver of the eastbound car as 21 year old Clara Harris of Grand Prairie and the driver of the westbound car as 22 year old Lindsey Roberson of Normangee. They were transported to St. Joseph’s in Bryan along with Roberson’s 12 week old baby for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Morgan credits a properly installed and secured car seat for saving the baby’s life.
