Andresen also said the city would be responsible for capital equipment and capital maintenance.
College Station’s parks and recreation director David Schmitz says there’s enough room for city and YMCA programs.
City manager Bryan Woods…who was involved in starting a Y in another city, says he and the CEO at the Williamson County Y have many questions to research for the council and the community.

Original story:
A consensus of the College Station city council has agreed to continue exploring the possibility of a Williamson County YMCA branch location.
The council directed the city manager’s office to explore the feasibility of forming a partnership with the YMCA.
That followed a presentation from Williamson County YMCA CEO Jeff Andresen and Burnet city manager David Vaughn.
Burnet is home to one of five branch locations, joining Round Rock, two in Cedar Park, and one under construction in Hutto.
Among the options that were presented is the city and/or any partners finding the land and building a $20 million dollar facility. The Y would operate the facility at no cost to the city. The city would be responsible for capital equipment and capital maintenance.
