College Station Utilities Resumes Sewer Line Smoke Testing

Last month, while the city of College Station conducted smoke testing of wastewater lines, the College Station fire department received several calls.

Water Resources Coordinator Jennifer Nations says they are conducting more smoke tests this week.

Nations says the tests help find defects in the waste water collection system. The testing will be done in the College Hills area bordered by Texas Avenue, Francis Drive, the freeway, and Harvey Road.

Last month, Nations says the testing resulted in finding 155 defects in city sewer lines.
