Triple-digit temperatures mean increased outdoor water usage, which means a bigger strain on the local water supply.
But the city of College Station’s Jennifer Nations says the water system is keeping up for now.

College Station produced more than 22 million gallons of water on Wednesday, which is a record for this time of year.
Nations says they can comfortably produce up to 26 million gallons a day. But three straight days of 90 percent capacity could mean mandatory water restrictions.
Nations says they have other municipal partners on whom they could call if water production reaches that level.
