A husband and wife are dead after a shooting at a College Station business Tuesday morning.
College Station police officer David Simmons says the incident happened just before 9 a.m. at the Wings Carwash & Washateria on Deacon Dr.
According to witness statements, a man approached a woman in the first bay of the carwash where an argument occurred.
“At which point the female tried to protect herself, she tried spraying the pressure washer at him. He produced a firearm and shot her at close distance and then took his own life,” says Simmons.
The female victim was identified as 40 year-old Katiusca Guedez De Cotiz of College Station. The male was identified as 43 year-old Wirmer Jose Cotiz Escobar of College Station.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Simmons says the two people were married, but separated. Investigators confirmed prior reports involving them and determined this was an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
