College Station Police Wait Five Hours For Burglary Suspects To Return To Their Truck

Some College Station police officers spent about five hours on Christmas Day camping out near the parking lot of an apartment complex.

When two men approached their pickup truck outside the Scandia Apartments on Anderson Street, they were arrested on charges of taking a YETI cooler from the garage of a home more than four miles away in the Barracks development.

28 year old Jonathan Russell and 29 year old Travis Sanders of Bryan were both arrested on charges of burglary of a habitation.

Sanders is out of jail after posting a $15,000 dollar bond.

Russell remains in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $68,000 dollars. From the Christmas Day arrest, Russell was also charged with evading arrest and possession of methamphetamine.

He is also being held on warrants relating to three upcoming trials on misdemeanor charges…two involving criminal trespassing and for unlawful use of a criminal instrument.

According to the arrest report, someone staying at the victim’s home saw Russell and Sanders enter the open attached garage and take the cooler.
