From College Station police:

The College Station Police Department is proud to announce that effective July 1st we will be providing new online resources to facilitate the reporting of certain offenses and incidents as well as allow public inquiries regarding criminal activity within the city.

The Desk Officer Reporting System (DORS) provided through LexisNexis and Coplogic will provide an online police reporting option to the public. This web-based reporting system will allow the public to file certain report types (identity theft, theft of property, harassment, criminal mischief, credit card/ debit card abuse, vehicle burglary, and lost property) over the internet at their convenience.

The service will allow the public to file a report at a time that is best for them without having to wait for an officer to respond or call them back. The public will be able to print a temporary copy of the report when it has been submitted. The report will be reviewed by police personnel, approved and then transferred into the College Station Police Department’s records management system just as if the report had been filed by a police officer responding to their location.

This web-based reporting option will allow officers more time to address community needs while keeping pace with the public expectancy to complete services via the internet. This crime reporting service is available at www.cstx.gov/onlinereporting.

Additionally criminal and significant activity will be available for interactive viewing through a publicly accessible web portal provided by CrimeMapping.com. This resource will replace the Significant Activity log and gives everyone the power to view basic information on certain criminal activity over the previous 7 days or it can be customized based on location, time/date and crime type. It will allow the user to set up and receive email alerts about criminal activity occurring near addresses within the city. This interactive website will be found at www.cstx.gov/crimemapping.
