Outstanding and exemplary efforts to assist a College Station police officer and protect bystanders results in a CSPD citizen commendation award.
According to CSPD’s social media, the first officer at a disturbance at a retail store last January encountered resistance in attempting to detain the suspect.
After the officer fell to the ground and was being kicked by the suspect, Jessie Lott stepped in and assisted in controlling the suspect until other officers arrived.
That led to Lott receiving the CSPD recognition for actions that “were above and beyond what would be expected of anyone to do in this situation.”
