College Station police continue to investigate the circumstances of a bicyclist who was struck by a dump truck Thursday (February 26) after school at Welsh and Deacon. A CSPD spokesman told WTAW News Friday that at this intersection, which is controlled by a four way stop, a juvenile aged girl wearing a helmet was struck crossing the street and was dragged underneath the truck for a short distance. She is at an out of town hospital with significant injuries. As of Friday morning, no charges have been filed.

Friday afternoon (February 27), CSPD shut down Harvey Road between Copperfield Drive and Veterans Park. That follows a collision at Copperfield and Harvey where a CSPD spokesman tells WTAW News that two people went to the hospital, one in critical condition. CSPD’s Facebook page shows photo from three different angles of the damage to a semi hauling a tanker and a full size pickup truck.
