The victim of a shooting in College Station on New Year’s Day gets a tourniquet placed on their leg by police before being taken to the hospital. CSPD’s Facebook page does not say what led to the gunfire around five in the morning in The Barracks neighborhood or if any suspects have been identified.

CSPD is also investigating multiple gunshots being heard Saturday (January 3) at 3:40 in the morning. No casualties, property damage, or arrests have been announced from that incident in the area of Copperfield and Harvey.

A second report of gunfire in College Station Saturday morning (January 3) did result in an arrest. The CSPD arrest report says at seven in the morning inside an apartment on Longmire, a woman said man pushed her to the ground and he stepped on her face. After that, the victim said she was calling police. That was followed by the man going outside and firing one shot, hitting the roof overhang outside the victim’s patio. Officers found the suspect, 32 year old James Sedric Jones IV of College Station, and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. As of January 4, Jones remained jailed in lieu of a $100,000 dollar bond.
