Two 21 year olds from College Station are accused of taking credit and debit card numbers from 16 people. A more than six month investigation by College Station police led to the arrests of Stelton Govan II and Ashanti Chambers. According to the CSPD arrest reports, detectives first learned of unauthorized charges made on two cards at three local restaurants totaling $123 dollars. Information from those crimes led to identifying an address and getting a search warrant for a College Station home. Officers seized computers and cell phones that had credit and debit card information of 14 more people which was purchased from foreign based websites. Govan and Chambers are out of jail after posting bonds totaling $60,000 dollars apiece.
For the fifth time in seven months, a Hearne man is in the Brazos County jail. 22 year old Deshannon Devon Pierce was one of two men arrested Tuesday by College Station police on a vehicle burglary charge. According to the CSPD arrest report, Pierce said he and 27 year old Demarcus Wallace of College Station entered several vehicles in the parking lot of The Cottages apartments. Wallace…according to his arrest report…stated a purse that was reported stolen was his. The officers who responded to a citizens report saw a car that immediately braked when the driver noticed the patrol vehicle. Then the officer identified the car that was involved in a prior vehicle burglary. That led to a traffic stop where the officer matched the suspect’s clothing to the victim’s description. According to online records, Pierce was arrested last month for credit/debit card abuse, in July for another vehicle burglary, in June on a warrant from Hearne police, and in May for driving without insurance. As of Friday afternoon, Pierce and Wallace remained in jail in lieu of bonds on the burglary charges and Wallace on a drug possession charge.
