College Station police reports a four year boy who was hospitalized in critical condition after ingesting THC in June is now in the care of his mother. The boy’s father and his girlfriend went to jail last Friday (October 25) on child endangerment charges. The CSPD arrest report says 28 year old D’niko Gardner and 27 year old Octasha Dorsey deny the boy consumed THC at their home. The arrest report also says officers found in the home a vape pen in the four year old’s backpack and a usable quantity of marijuana under a couch. A CSPD spokesman tells WTAW News that the boy’s mother is not a suspect. Gardner remains jailed as of October 30 in lieu of a $50,000 dollar bond. Dorsey remains held in lieu of a $50,000 dollar bond on the child endangerment charge, a $30,000 dollar bond in a pending trial charging her with felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance that took place in October 2019, and an $8,000 dollar bond following her arrest in June 2024 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
A 17 year old wanted on a warrant for juvenile authorities for violating a court order after assaulting a family member is arrested on an adult assault charge. Skyler Butler of College Station was also charged with escape by getting out of a College Station police vehicle with the help of a friend. The CSPD arrest report says Butler, who was still in handcuffs, was caught after she ran about 20 feet before tripping on a concrete sidewalk and falling. The arrest report says an officer saw Butler strike a 21 year old man in the face with a closed fist. This happened in the Northgate district after the bars closed Sunday morning (October 27). Bonds on the new charges total $8,000 dollars. Butler remains jailed as of October 30 on a hold from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department.
