An 18 year old Bryan man on probation for assaulting and harassing a public servant returns to jail on weapons charges. A College Station police Facebook post says Darris Johnson was one of five people taken to jail (booked May 29) following a traffic stop for an undisclosed reason. CSPD posted photos of three handguns that were recovered. Two were reported stolen and one was modified to make it capable of being an automatic weapon. Johnson was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a gun as a convicted felon. Jail records also show Johnson is being held on a warrant for failing to pay almost $2,500 dollars in fines and court costs related to his guilty plea for harassing and assaulting a public servant in November of 2023. Two other people in the vehicle with Johnson were taken to jail for underage possession of a gun, another went to jail for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and one went to jail for failing to wear a seat belt. As of May 29, Johnson remains held without bond on the warrant and bonds totaling $16,000 dollars from his latest arrest.
