A College Station man and the Brazos County district attorney’s office reach a plea agreement in eight criminal cases that date back more than four years.

Online court records shows 41 year old Christopher Sanchez admitted to misdemeanor dating violence assault causing bodily injury that took place in February 2025, felony assaulting a pregnant person in July 2023, felony unlawful possession of a gun by a felon in August 2020, three misdemeanor counts of possessing marijuana between December 2021 and June 2022, and driving with an invalid license in June 2022.

The plea agreement calls for Sanchez to serve a 15 year prison sentence for the felony convictions.

News release from the Brazos County district attorney’s office:

On April 9, 2025, Christopher Sanchez of College Station, Texas, pled guilty to multiple felonies and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Assault of Pregnant Person

On July 31, 2023, officers with the College Station Police Department responded to the Southgate Village Apartments for a report of an assault. The victim, who had been the passenger in
the vehicle when Sanchez was arrested in 2020, had since had a child with Sanchez and was pregnant at the time of the assault. The victim told police that Sanchez had accused her of infidelity and believed that the toddler was not his biological child. She reported that Sanchez had grabbed her by the neck, pulled her off the couch by her ankles, and stomped on her
before leaving with the child. Police located Sanchez and the child at Sanchez’s mother’s apartment, located in the same complex. Sanchez was arrested and charged with Assault of a Pregnant Person.

Felon in Possession of Firearm

Just before 2:30 a.m. on August 15, 2020, officers with the Bryan Police Department were out speaking with a couple of juveniles, when a silver Chevrolet Impala passed by, bringing with it the overwhelming odor of marijuana. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the Impala, which was owned and driven by Sanchez.

During the search, officers located two Smith & Wesson magazines underneath the driver’s seat and inside a red duffle bag in the backseat. A stolen 9 mm Smith & Wesson pistol was recovered from under the passenger seat.

Sanchez, who had previously been sentenced to prison in 2018, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon. Sanchez had previously been convicted of a domestic violence related assault, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance. Because of Sanchez’s criminal history, the possible range of punishment for both felony offenses was increased to a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Sanchez was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the offenses of Assault of a Pregnant Person and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon. He was additionally convicted of Assault Family Violence in connection with a February 2025 arrest.

Statement from assistant district attorneys Ryan Golden and David Kaldas: “This defendant’s domestic violence behavior towards family members, coupled with his unlawful possession of firearms, warranted this punishment.”
