A College Station man is arrested for buying a $49,000 dollar car with a forged cashier’s check.

The Bryan police arrest report says 35 year old Christopher Hallmark also used an accomplice’s driver’s license to buy the 2021 Cadillac from a local dealer in December of 2022.

The arrest report says shortly after the sale, the dealer’s bank returned the check saying the account could not be located.

The car was recovered using its navigation system and returned to the dealer.

As of January 19, Hallmark remained in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $80,000 dollars on charges of felony theft, forgery, and illegal use of the drivers license.

Online court records show this case is one of three pending criminal trials in Brazos County district court. A second case accuses Hallmark of two counts of debit/credit card abuse in November 2022 and the third case accuses him of evading arrest with a prior conviction in January 2023.

And online jail records show Hallmark is being held for state prison officials.
