A College Station man scheduled for a jury trial in Bryan municipal court on Tuesday (August 19) landed in jail after he was arrested for hindering court proceedings.

The arrest report from a deputy Bryan city marshal says in the court lobby, 43 year old Richard Rodriquez called 9-1-1 asking for police and initially refused to enter the courtroom.

After receiving a warning, Rodriquez entered the courtroom where he started arguing with the judge.

After Rodriquez told the judge she was going to prison, he was arrested.

Online jail records show Rodriquez was arrested for the same offense on April 2nd.

Rodriquez is also awaiting trial in Brazos County district court from charges in September 2024 for felony harassment of a public servant and misdemeanor resisting arrest and failing to identify himself.

Rodriquez is out of jail for the fifth time since January 2024 and the 21st time since October 2000 after posting a $4,000 dollar bond.
