College Station ISD Changes In Elementary School Recess Policy

College Station school board members were notified during their last meeting of a revised policy regarding when elementary students can be kept out of recess.

Superintendent Clark Ealy says revisions from CSISD’s student health advisory committee were made to standardize the policy at all elementary campuses.

Dr. Ealy says teachers may utilize up to ten minutes of a 25 to 30 minute recess period for teaching a student’s behavior or academic skill.

And only principals can make the decision to keep an elementary student out of an entire recess period.
