A former College Station city employee is returning.
Frank Simpson, who began his government career 25 years ago as a public utilities worker, has been hired as Assistant City Manager.
The position has been vacant since February when David Neeley was promoted to City Manager.
the 47 year old Simpson, whose first day is July 5th, returns to College Station from Missouri City, where he’s been City Manager since 2004.
Simpson’s first employment with College Station was between 1986 and 1993. He has also served in management positions in La Marque, Center, and Webster.
Simpson was among 174 applicants reviewed by city staff. Two candidates are current city employees.
