College Station police reported Friday that Rizzo, the small mixed breed dog who was hurt earlier this week, is receiving treatment by a veterinarian for non-life threatening injuries.

The Bryan man who was arrested on felony charges of abusing Rizzo, is now also charged with criminal mischief.

According to a CSPD arrest report, 20 year old Garrett Fleming told officers he was upset with the roommate of his girlfriend for interfering with their relationship.

The week before injuring Rizzo, Fleming told officers he put sugar in the gas tank of the roommate’s SUV.

The roommate told police repairs to her vehicle totaled more than $2,800 dollars.

Fleming remains jailed in lieu of bonds that now total $40,000 dollars.

Original story:

A Bryan man is accused of entering a College Station woman’s apartment Wednesday night and abusing her small mixed breed dog.

According to the College Station police arrest report, the woman knows the man who the investigating officer described as torturing Rizzo.

The officer saw at least three videos taken from the apartment showing 20 year old Garrett Fleming picking up Rizzo from her dog bed.

Fleming is seen repeatedly striking the dog’s face with a closed fist, repeatedly kicking the dog’s face with his work boots, and holding down the dog’s head and stretching Rizzo’s back leg multiple times.

Fleming, who was arrested on two felony counts of animal abuse, is jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $30,000 dollars.
