College Station Councilman Announces Seeking The Mayor’s Job

Almost two weeks ahead of the start of filing for this November’s local general election, comes the first campaign announcement.

Running for College Station mayor is current councilman John Nichols.

That position will be vacated after Nancy Berry joins the Brazos County Commission.

Dr. Nichols, a professor emeritus at Texas A&M, is finishing his second term on the council.

Nichols, who is the council’s current mayor pro tem, has also served on College Station’s parks board and planning and zoning commission.

The first day to file for College Station mayor and council is Monday, July 25th.
