College Station city hall is officially out of room, according to city manager Kelly Templin.
Templin says space that was not an office was turned into an office this week to accommodate a new employee in the finance department.
Templin says city hall was kept out of consideration for a probable bond issue this November because he’s working with a private developer on possibly redeveloping the block that also includes the former police and fire station.
Templin says there is a quarter block of green space behind the former police and fire station where homes once stood.
In the meantime, Templin says part of creating next year’s budget is investigating available office space to lease.
Other options that were considered included moving in portable buildings and moving city hall to the current police department if voters approve a new PD headquarters.
