College Station City Council Officially Supports The 2020 Census

Business at the last College Station city council meeting included approving a resolution in support of next April’s census count.

Dan Rudge of the B/CS metropolitan planning organization says those who are less likely to fill out census forms are low income residents, minorities, and off-campus Texas A&M students.

In the last census, response rates in off campus student housing areas were less than 65 percent.

Rudge says the census is working with A&M to count students in residence halls.

Rudge says for those who don’t fill out census forms in April, canvassers will start going door to door…but not before most students are gone for the summer.

Next year’s census forms will be available electronically as well as on paper.
