College Station City Council Hires Designer For The First Part Of A New Regional Park

Eight more synthetic ballfields are eventually coming to College Station.

At the last city council meeting, approval was given to a $1.22 million dollar design contract that includes the first four fields at the new Southeast Park.

There is an overall budget of $10 million dollars for Southeast Park, which is located along Rock Prairie Road between Bird Pond and Fitch.

$6 million will come from bonds yet to be issued, and another $4 million from hotel occupancy tax money.

No construction timetable has been announced.
