College Station city council members began and ended their last meeting with closed door discussions.

No action was taken after both executive sessions last Thursday. Two new topics were addressed privately. According to the agenda, one involved legal issues related to enforcing violations of the zoning ordinance prohibiting more than four unrelated individuals to live in one home. The council was also scheduled to receive legal advice regarding potential city participation in global opioid settlements.

A new roof is going on the old police department building, which is now being used as the International Leadership of Texas high school. In response to a councilmember’s written question, the $118,000 dollar expense was compared to the $1 million dollar total value of the city’s lease with I-L-T. This is the second year of a three year base lease with an option of two additional one-year renewals.
