It took the College Station city council more than one hour at last Thursday’s meeting to finalize who will be on a 23 member bond steering committee.

The extensive discussion included mayor Karl Mooney telling city manager Bryan Woods “If I sound upset mister city manager, yes I am upset, because this is not what we were asked to do.”

When Woods asked for clarification, the mayor said “We were told to find 23 out of this list. Each council member, up to 23” from a list of 42 candidates.

There was no disagreement with councilman Dennis Maloney’s observation that “It was very nice to have so many good people to choose from. It was a shame to say that you have to say no to some.”

Members of the committee, according to blog.cstx.gov: David Higdon (chair), Don Hellreigel (co-chair), Jason Cornelius (Planning & Zoning Commission), Debe Schaffer (Parks & Recreation Board), Kathy Langlotz (Bicycle, Pedestrian & Greenways Advisory Board), Allyson Wakefield, Diane Davis, Fred Dupriest, Gary Halter, Jill Giroir, John White, Clint Cooper, Fred McClure, Mike Martindale, Bill Mather, William Wright, Steve Aldrich, Robert Greer, Rene Ramirez, Julian McMurrey, James Massey, Mike Ashfield, and Kimberly McAdams.
