Producers Cooperative Association recently presented a check for $5,000 to the Brazos Valley Food Bank. The funds include a $2,500 donation from Producers and a matching gift of $2,500 from Land O’ Lakes. The funds will be used to help the BVFB reach their goal of ending hunger in the Brazos Valley. “Supporting the Brazos Valley Food Bank is a natural fit for Producers. We serve the farmers and ranchers who grow the food that goes to those in need. Update: 09/08/2026: The College Station Police Department reported today that they received reports on Saturday that someone had been shot, and was allegedly seen running through the district, but a victim was unable to be located. They say now that a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand spoke with investigators on Sunday. Investigators say that the victim was acquainted with the suspect and traveled to College Station together. Update 09/07/2026: The bond amounts for all charges have been set. Wheeler is now being held on $145,000 bond. A teenager is behind bars after accidental discharge of a firearm Saturday night at a Northgate bar. College Station Police on patrol in Northgate heard a shot come from the One15 club in the 100 block of College Main. 19-year-old Trey Lamar Wheeler, of Tyler, was located inside the club with a gun in his waistband. Reports say he had a second firearm that was misplaced inside the club prior to the shot being fired. The second firearm was eventually located and seized. Wheeler was charged with Public Intoxication, 2 counts of Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, 2 Counts of Unlawful Carry of a Weapon in a Prohibited Place, Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm, Disorderly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm, and Failure to Identify Giving False/Fictitious Information. He is currently jailed on $20,000 bond. Bond has not yet been set on three of the eight charges. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
