Child Pornography Trial Underway

Two years ago Thursday, College Station Police arrived at a home to serve an arrest warrant on a man who locked himself in his bedroom for two hours before surrendering.

Thursday marks the second day of testimony in the Brazos County District Court jury trial of 24 year old Justin Tyler Davis.

He is charged with 26 counts of possessing child pornography in his home desktop computer.

The prosecution’s opening statements focused on how police seized evidence following Davis’ arrest on a warrant from an unrelated case.

The defendant’s lawyer told the jury Davis did not knowingly put any illegal photos…as many as 942…into his computer.

As for the remaining 43,000 images that were found, the defense attorney told the jury some were “weird, some bizarre, some crazy stuff…but legal stuff.”

In addition to this week’s trial, Davis is awaiting a separate trial on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and other crimes related to his arrest two years ago.
