More than 60 lawyers packed Thursday’s luncheon meeting of the Brazos County Bar Association.
The reason was to hear from the three Republican candidates for 361st district judge.
Incumbent Steve Smith is opposed by Michele Esparza and Margaret Meece.
Each candidate was given a maximum of four minutes to give remarks. There was no question and answer period.
No Democrats filed for the position.
A reminder that next Monday, February 3, is the deadline to register to vote for the March 4 primary.
Early voting begins February 18.
