Campaign Announcements For Brazos County Elected Offices

Two current Brazos County elected officials announce running for re-election. They are precinct one justice of the peace Kenny Elliott and precinct one constable Jeff Reeves. Elliott was first elected in 2018, and Reeves is completing his third full term after he was appointed in 2012.

A third incumbent Brazos County elected official plans to run for re-election. District clerk Gabriel Garcia is opposed in next year’s Republican primary by Wayland Van Nest.

And there is at least one candidate for county judge. Former Bryan city councilman Mike Southerland has started campaign advertising for the position now held by Duane Peters, who has been absent on a medical leave since June.
