A five percent cut to those receiving food stamp benefits, also known as SNAP, means more business is expected at the Brazos Valley Food Bank.
Executive Director Theresa Mangapora says the real pinch will come in early December, which is bad enough because it’s the start of the holidays.
She says the reduced benefits will also come when children are out of school on holiday break.
Mangapora says food donations can be made at local grocery stores and multiple food drives that are taking place during the holidays.

Mangapora says each dollar donated purchases five pounds of food.
