Burglary Prevention Reminders And Burglary Arrests

College students going home following finals are being reminded by local law enforcement to protect the valuables they’re leaving behind. Bryan police officer Kelley McKethan suggests taking small valuables home, recording serial numbers and taking photos of what is staying put, and finding someone trustworthy to keep an eye out on your apartment or house to make it looked lived in.

Bryan and College Station police report making arrests this week on residential burglary charges.

Bryan police made an arrest from a residential burglary that happened Wednesday morning between the city cemetery and Mount Calvary cemetery. 24 year old Demetric Walker is accused of entering a home on Legion Court without the occupant’s permission and taking $354 dollars. According to the arrest report, the victim told police they owed Walker money from buying drugs. According to online jail records, Walker is also being held on a parole violation from an unidentified case.

Three and a half years ago, College Station police responded to a disturbance involving pre-teens, teenagers, and adults in the area of Brentwood and Anderson. On Wednesday, a Navasota woman was arrested on a burglary charge. 39 year old Tiffany Curtis is accused of forcing her way into an apartment occupied by people who were in the disturbance and hitting one person with a broken table leg.
