The announcement that Readfield Meats and Deli in Bryan is closing, does not involve another company that used to be owned by the same family.
The corporate owner of Ruffino Meats and food service sent WTAW News a statement that they are not affected by the Ruffino family ending their retail business April 30th.
The president of Dominion Foods says operations of Ruffino Meats will remain in Bryan, where they sell products to restaurants, retailers, and distributors.
Dominion acquired Ruffino Meats in 2024.
News release from Ruffino Meats & Food Service:
Ruffino Meats & Foodservice wishes to clarify that the company remains fully operational and is not affected by the announced closure of Readfield’s Meats & Deli.
While Ruffino Meats & Foodservice proudly produces the Readfield’s Sausage brand, the Readfield’s Meats & Deli retail business has operated independently in recent years. “We deeply respect the history and legacy of Readfield’s Meats & Deli, which has been part of the Bryan community for generations,” said Curtis Hector, President of Dominion Foods Group, parent company of Ruffino Meats & Foodservice. “At the same time, we want our customers and partners across Texas to know that Ruffino Meats & Foodservice and our Readfield’s Sausage brand remain strong, active, and continuing to grow.”
Ruffino Meats & Foodservice, a division of Dominion Foods Group, continues to provide high-quality meat products and foodservice solutions to restaurants, retailers, and distributors across the region. All operations remain based in Bryan, Texas.
