The more than $40 million dollar expansion and renovation of Bryan’s Stephen F. Austin (SFA) middle school is officially underway.
Groundbreaking took place Monday on the Coulter Street side of the campus, a day before the first anniversary of Bryan ISD voters approving a $132 million dollar bond issue by a two to one margin.
Those involved in the bond issue were thanked by school board president David Stasny, a 1970 graduate of what was then SFA high school, superintendent Tommy Wallis, and assistant superintendent Amy Drozd.
