The Bryan Police Department says the skeletal remains uncovered Wednesday are believed to be those of a female. An identification card was located near the remains and after making contacting with family, they confirmed that their loved one has been missing for an extended period of time.
A surveying crew located the remains yesterday in the 5900 block of Jones Road, near what is believed to be a homeless encampment.
The preliminary identification is not being released. The remains will now be the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification. They will conduct a complete examination, including DNA analysis, and dental comparisons, in hopes of confirming the decedent’s identity.
