Bryan Police Respond To Citizen’s Report Of Shots Fired

A citizen’s report of hearing gunfire Wednesday afternoon resulted in several Bryan police officers responding to the area of Villa Maria and Cavitt.

Sgt. Ryan Bona says concerned citizens reported suspicious activity based on two men reacting to the gunfire. The two men turned out to be an off-duty deputy and someone with a concealed handgun license.

Police found someone firing their handgun in a creek bed behind Shipwreck Grill. The Bryan resident was ticketed for illegal discharge of a firearm, and police seized the weapon.

No one was hurt and there was no property damage.
