Bryan police recovered two stolen pickups early Wednesday morning that were taken with keys left inside unlocked vehicles.
Photo of Ezra Tate from the Brazos County jail.An arrest was made in one of the incidents. That’s after a patrol officer at two in the morning on William Joel Bryan passed a truck and noticed the driver and at least two passengers appeared to be nervous. When the officer slowed down, so did the truck to stay behind the patrol car. Then the officer turned to let the truck by, then followed the truck until it stopped at Coulter and Ursuline. Three passengers ran off and were not caught. The driver, 18 year old Ezra Tate of Bryan, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, and marijuana possession. The victim, from Hearne, also reported her debit card that she left in the truck was used in Bryan, Navasota, Roans Prairie, and Madisonville.
At 3:30 in the morning, when officers attempted to stop a suspected drunk driver, that led to a chase that ended with a tire on the suspect’s truck blew out in the Castle Heights neighborhood on Conroy Street. Those in the truck ran off without being caught, and it was learned the pickup was stolen from outside a home on Avon Street…about five miles away near Blinn College…where three vehicle burglary reports were taken later in the day.
