Bryan police responded to a resident’s call that they were tired of drug sales taking place in front of their home near the Northgate district.

Officers went to an apartment complex on Boyett Street, behind the Westgate shopping center off Wellborn, where the property owner has a criminal trespass warning.

According to the arrest report, officers walked up to a car parked with the engine running on the property.

When the driver lowered his window, officers smelled marijuana. They also learned the driver was on probation from a prior drug conviction and was wanted on a warrant for a parking violation.

All that led to a search of the driver and the vehicle.

Officers seized 23 pieces of what’s believed to be crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $260 dollars, and a large wad of cash that totaled $730 dollars.

26 year old Riheim Phillips of Bryan was arrested for selling drugs. He is out of jail after posting a $10,000 dollar bond.

According to online records, it’s the 14th time Phillips has been in the Brazos County jail since February 2013.

Phillips is also of one of three people named in a Brazos County district court lawsuit by the district attorney’s office. The civil lawsuit is an attempt by prosecutors to keep more than $11,000 dollars that was seized when College Station police searched a home in September 2017.
