Bryan Police Looking For Woman Who Scammed Six People Of $116,000 Dollars

Bryan police announce a search for a woman who is accused of taking more than $116,000 dollars from six victims in a scam targeting the Hispanic community.

Officer Kelley McKethan says the victims met with a “Bruja”. That’s a witch or sorceress who reads tarot cards and performs other services.

McKethan says the victims had been doing business with the woman since April, when she offered a cash “cleansing” last weekend.

The “cleansing” was supposed to bring the victims good luck and potentially double their money.

McKethan says victims lost between $2,000 and $30,000 dollars.
