Bryan Police Investigating Forged Checks That Were Mailed At The Bryan Post Office

Bryan police believe criminals from Harris County are intercepting checks mailed from the Bryan post office and forging the checks.

BPD received two forgery reports this week originating from the post office.

One victim learned about their forged check when reviewing their financial statement. The other victim was contacted by the intended recipient who never received their check.

A BPD spokesman tells WTAW News if you have to mail a check, put it in a solid envelope and/or disguise it where it is not obvious it is a check. And do your best to follow up with the final destination of the check.

The monetary loss in both cases were not disclosed. But both incidents involve a felony crime.
