Bryan Police Arrests From A Recent Gunfire Incident And A Driver With An Invalid License With Prior Convictions

A Bryan man was arrested Tuesday (May 6) for gunfire that took place almost two weeks ago. Bryan police arrest reports say video from outside a bar showed 41 year old Paul Cruz firing three shots at two men at two in the morning on April 26th. When Cruz was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, he was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. That is after a handgun was found in his truck. Cruz was released from jail Thursday (May 8) after posting bonds totaling $60,000 dollars.

A Bryan police officer stops a pickup for not signaling a right turn during the midnight hour on Wednesday (May 7). That results in the driver going to jail for the 25th time in 24 years. 42 year old Dustin Lovell of Bryan was released after posting a $2,000 dollar bond on a charge of driving with an invalid license with four prior convictions. The convictions took place in Brazos County in 2011, 2013, and 2014, and in Cooke County in 2024.
